Student Auditions

Each year, NATS Boston holds student auditions . Teachers who are members of NATS Boston can submit their students, who have the opportunity to receive constructive feedback from voice professionals and compete to receive awards.

NATS Boston Student Auditions are non-progressive, but we do encourage singers to participate in auditions at the Regional level as well. For more information, please visit http://www.nenats.com/.

If you're interested in learning more about our Student Auditions, we encourage you to explore our Student Auditions 2022, Past Auditions, and Adjudication Resources pages.

Student Auditions Committee

We welcome all NATS Boston teachers to join our new Student Auditions Committee! The committee will be chaired by Elizabeth (Liz) Eschen, NATS Boston Board President, and Craig Juricka, NATS Boston Board Vice-President. Liz has been involved with the last four years of Student Auditions, having coordinated the 2020 NEC in-person auditions as well as the 2021 and 2022 online auditions. And as vice-president, Craig will be taking the lead on our chapter programming; you may have recently seen him as the em-cee for our February 19/20th Finals Concerts.

Eligibility: Any NATS Boston teacher with interest in designing effective, meaningful singer programming. You do not have to have recently submitted students to the Student Auditions, though certainly any past or current experience with those or similar competitions is helpful.

Timeline: Interested teachers should fill out this Interest Form by April 1st. The committee will meet quarterly on Zoom based on availability, with current meetings planned for May 2022, August 2022, and November 2022.

Goals: We have three primary goals:
  • Assess the current state of auditions
  • Determine the needs of the community
  • Design singer-centered programming that meets those needs

If you have any questions, please contact Liz and Craig at studentauditions@natsboston.org. We truly look forward to this opportunity to work directly with you, and together build something new and exciting.
