Community Summer Bash
A Restoration Era Macbeth
Shakespeare’s Macbeth as you’ve never seen it before! Join the Henry Purcell Society of Boston for a rare performance of a Restoration classic.
In 1664, William Davenant adapted Shakespeare’s Macbeth for the age, infusing it with music that was performed by some of the finest singers of the day. Come experience scenes and music from the Scottish play as it was performed to enormous success on the Restoration and 18th Century stage. The three witches loom larger in this production as the Wayward Sisters weave their spells in song. Click here for more details and to purchase tickets. |

Cape Cod Premiere: May 8th, 2023, 4 pm., First Congregational Church in Chatham, MA
The lives of six whaling women...in their own words.
Whaling Women is a lyrical score that marries composer Jodi Goble’s original music with the historically accurate sea chanteys, hymn tunes, and lullabies of the 19th century. Whaling Women tells of love and loss, whether at sea-chasing whales and braving the dangers of shipwreck, or on land managing households and fighting for social justice in their communities.
Featuring: Melynda Davis, Heather Gallagher, Emily Harmon, Helen Hassinger, Dr. Matthew Larson, Diana McVey, Patrice Tiedemann, and Scott Hamilton as The Man in the Boat.
Tickets are $25 and are available through Eventbrite and at the door the day of the performance.
