COMMUNITY BRIDGES
Our Community Bridges initiatives are designed to build and strengthen the connective tissues across our membership, as well as equip members with the tools, resources, and support system to elevate their pedagogical skills and overall well-being.
- Friday TOOLKITS: Join us once a month for a virtual Lunch & Learn as we invite expert members in our community to share the tools behind their success! Upcoming topics include Innovation in the Music Business, How to Organize Your Business, Resources on Finances/Taxes for Teachers, and more.
- Member COMMITTEES: Our NATS Boston community is full of ideas & insights, and we want to hear them! Our Board now has two committees that are open to all members to participate. For more information on how to join these committees, email Director of Communications Lyndsee Bell at [email protected].
- Our Membership Committee, led by Director of Membership Emily Siar, works on creating connections within our NATS community - the NATS Boston Mentorship Program, SNATS Boston, new member gatherings, etc. are all housed here.
- Our Innovation Committee, led by Director of Commercial Music & Innovation LaMarcus Miller, aims to thread culture and music from a melange of backgrounds and present them to the greater Boston ecosystem. The commercial music arena does not discriminate against genre; "popular music" constantly shifts and chameleonizes, and we're here to surface and celebrate the interstitial moments of its transformation. We aim to illuminate and support those shifts by creating empathy through education, inclusivity of all genres and people groups, and shepherding new ideas and relationships for all who choose to engage.
- Our Student Auditions Committee, led by Student Auditions Coordinator Stephanie Morey-Barry, welcomes all NATS Boston members to participate in the generation and execution of one of our long-standing successful programs, the Student Auditions.
- NEWSLETTER: We welcome back our NATS Boston newsletter! Arriving in your inboxes on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month, this will highlight our upcoming events, with special features like the Teacher of the Month and Community News.
- Community HUB: Our NATS Boston teacher network is one of our greatest, and perhaps most under-utilized, strengths. We’d like to create more ways to share knowledge, ask questions, recommend studios, meet new friends, promote opportunities, and stay informed on what’s happening across our community.
- Featured Teacher of the Month! : Let’s celebrate the people who make this vibrant community so amazing - YOU! Every month, we will spotlight an incredible NATS Boston teacher and their vital work. Interested in being featured, or know someone whose work deserves the spotlight? Fill out our Featured Teacher form!
- Directory: Are you looking for new students? Do you have a student who is ready for a specialist in a particular genre? Are you a specialist in a particular area? Are they in Newton, or Andover, or happy to do virtual lessons? What great teaching is happening outside of our immediate circles? All of this begs the question - other than FB and its limitations, how do we find these answers? Our hope is that this opt-in, internal NATS Boston Directory will help answer some of these questions. Stay tuned for more details!
- Testmonials: if you or a student have a great NATS Boston experience to share, we want to hear about it! You know the power of NATS to change lives, and your stories are the best examples of why we join and serve in this way. We will take your words and pictures directly from this Testimonials Form.
- Summer BOOK CLUB & PICNIC: In Summer 2025, we are excited to launch our first ever Book Club. Spend the summer soaking up new knowledge and discovering a shared passion for pedagogy! This gathering will cement and celebrate the learnings and friendships brought about from the Year of the Teacher.More details to come!
