Eligibility:
Participants should be actively studying with a chapter member of NATS Boston.
Singers and their teachers do not have to be currently living in the Boston area to participate.
A student's age as of September 1, 2023 will determine the student’s category of entry. Students will remain in the same category for an entire audition cycle—even if later in the academic year on their birthday, they age out of the category. September 1st is the first day of each annual NATS National Student Auditions cycle and is designated here for that reason.
Acknowledging that Student Auditions is a herculean effort and can only take place if there are enough volunteers and judges to support the students participating, all NATS Boston member teachers submitting students to the chapter auditions must be available to volunteer on each day they have students participating. Depending on the number of students who register, teachers with students participating both days may not be required to volunteer on both days, but until registration closes and the number of volunteers needed can be precisely determined, teachers are requested to be available to volunteer for each day they have students participating. In the event that a teacher is unavailable to volunteer, they must provide a proxy in their place, and that proxy cannot be someone who is already committed to volunteering. In the case of adjudication, teachers will adjudicate categories in which they have not submitted students.

Registration:
Registration closed on Monday, April 22nd at 11:59 PM (Eastern Time).
The registration fee for a single division is $35, dual division registration is $60, and three division registration is $75.
Singers may sign up for up to three divisions (Classical, Commercial Music, Musical Theatre). If this fee presents financial hardship, please email [email protected] for scholarship information.
To register for Classical, Commercial Music, and/or Musical Theatre Student Auditions, students will complete and submit the registration form (including repertoire information) one time for each division registration, i.e., if a student is registering for 3 divisions, they will submit the registration form 3 times. Upon completion of the form, singers will be directed to the payment form which must also be completed in order for the student to be fully registered.
Depending on division size, caps and/or division splits may be implemented. This will be determined by order of registration. For this reason, we encourage everyone to register sooner rather than later. In the event that any division does not meet the minimum of 5 participants, NATS Boston reserves the right to assign these singers to another appropriate category, or offer a refund if an appropriate category is not available or is at capacity.
